Open: Serenity Prayer

DCM Report: Alan
Dale L. (Alt DCM) and I attended the NCGSCAA in Charlotte on 3/2 and 3/3. The purpose of this event was to help our Area Delegate take feedback to the General Service Conference. We participated in the sub-committees on 1) Literature item F, Review and understand the Confidentiality Agreement on the Big Book Plain and Simple Language. To produce a draft copy prior to proper review is against approved processes. It is still a work-in-progress. 2) We were assigned to the Growth and Maintenance sub-committee. The agenda item discussed was audio devices for hearing impaired at Area Assemblies and Conferences. More investigation is to follow in order to gather more information before proposing to the Assembly.
The Area 51 Delegate did receive much and helpful feedback on “What are the founders writings?”. There is no ‘agenda to change the Big Book, other than to update the stories in the back of edition 5.
Questions could be developed from the questions. “What are the founders writings?”. Such as,
Big Book, 12&12, As Bill Sees it, Service Manual, etc.
Attended the Plain Language Big Book information session via Zoom, presented by the SE Regional Delegates on 2/25. There were 1,000 attendees. Zoom could not accommodate additional attendees.
The March Beaming Beacon is available. Also available on The Area 51 Website in the Delegates Corner tab.
