TYPICAL MEETING SCRIPT

My name is ______ and I’m an alcoholic.

Please help me open this meeting with the Serenity Prayer.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Welcome to the _____ meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. This is an (open or closed) meeting of AA Anonymous (and anyone may attend.)

I’ve asked _____ to read How It Works.

I’ve asked _____ to read the Daily Reflections.

Before I introduce the topic, does anyone have any problems, questions or ideas relevant to their sobriety that they would like to hear discussed today?

[Chairperson introduces the topic, then reads the following]

A few things to keep in mind:

1. To limit background noise, please mute yourself when you are notsharing. Don’t be offended if the host does this for you.

2. If you want to see everyone’s video, and not just the person who is speaking, click the 9 squares at the top right corner of your screen.

[Open the meeting]

That’s all the time we have for today. Thank you everyone for being here.

According to our 7th tradition, AA is self-supporting through its own contributions.

In closing we would like to remind you that the opinions expressed here were strictly those of the person who gave them. Take what you like and leave the rest.

Anonymity Statement: Please remember, who you see here, what you hear here, let it stay here.
