DCM REPORT

We are approaching our 5th consecutive District 71-GSR Zoom meeting. My prayers continue to be with you all and your families that you are healthy and staying safe…and sane! It’s using the tools of our program, during these most unprecedented times, that helps me retain a sense of calm and acceptance. And then there is Gratitude…I am so grateful to our A.A. Groups for their creativity with continuing Zoom meetings along with outside meetings while adhering to the Covid-19 guidelines!! As we continue to navigate through this “new norm” of daily living...please hug tight to A.A!! (virtually, of course!).

It’s only been 3 weeks since we last met so this will be a short report. Since GSR presence has been increasingly low at our meetings, Liz and I are reaching out by phone to those we haven’t seen in a while. We’ll have an update on that front on Saturday morning.

Liz and I are truly excited about beginning District 71’s Service Manual Book Study. Check out our flyer on our website. Our first meeting is Saturday, August 15th at 10:00AM in our D-71 Zoom space, ID# 839 998 9177 (no PW). Please spread the word. We are hoping for a great turnout as we will first hold a group conscience to set up the format for the book study. Liz or I will initially chair but once we are up and running, chairing will be open.

The Growth and Maintenance Committee that Liz and I have been assigned to is one busy Committee!! the Area Chair thus far has given the committee 9 initiatives to work on, develop, resolve etc.. In addition to Co-chairing this Committee, I have been assigned to implement the 2021 Area Inventory. With the help of a small team, much research and many meetings…this week we submitted the 2021 Area Inventory Agenda Item for approval at the September Committee Meeting and ultimately at the Fall Assembly. Liz has already embraced the work of G&M and is a great addition to the committee. Liz will report on her involvement.

We will be attending the Area 51 Committee Meeting in Clemmons. I will present the 6 Agenda items for the GSRs to take back to their groups for their group conscience and to report back to me prior to September 4th.
