Liz has been recovering from a bout with Covid, which kept her out of work for 10 days. She wrote letters to various hotels to try and get bids for future events. Movie night has been planned for August 6 at St. Timothy’s church in Brevard

June 12th Founders day picnic at Jackson Park (more info in New Business)

List of 6 agenda items for GSR’s to take back to their home groups for consideration is available on the website.

Need several positions to be filled. Alternate DCM, Corrections, Grapevine and PI.

Please ask at your home groups for folks willing to step up.

Treasurer’s report: Keenan

Beginning balance $2735.52

Contributions:

Serenity Group $140.85

Big Town Group $164.32

Fireside Group $25.00

Roundtable Group $150.00

Ending balance (with 2 checks pending) $3215.69

Voted to pay St John’s annually at $100.00 for 4 meetings at $25.00 per visit.

Secretary Report: Larry L .

Minutes were sent out twice and posted on the D71 website. Minutes were accepted.

Web Administrator: Valerie

367 hits on the website this month.

A large number of statistics listed on the website showing locations and other information about visits to the site.

Valerie cautioned Terry about putting her phone number on the flier for the picnic, both on line and on the paper flier. Ellen has requested her number be removed before it is posted again.

There were questions about the proposal to switch to Google Space by several members. Concerns about confusion of learning a new platform for people that had a hard enough time getting the Zoom thing down. Also the zoom has been paid for the year. It was voted to remain with the current system, and revisit the issue later.

Central Office: Mike J

Meeting at the central office discussed how to disperse any surplus that remained.Literature for prisons and treatment centers was a possibility. Tabled until the July meeting.

Office is still closed but Ray will open the door for walk ins. Appointments are encouraged. Ray does not want folks just dropping in.

Vote to get rid of old computer equipment by donation or recycle.

CPC-Pi Linda Jo

Working with the 8 7th Day Adventist churches in the area. 4 have requested AA material.

Suggests anyone visiting your doctor to ask if there is an interest to have literature available in the office.

Still need PI position filled.

Planning for Founders Day picnic at Jackson Park June 12 underway. Need volunteers to set up. Also need grills and people to cook hot dogs and hamburgers. People are to bring side dishes.

Speaker will be Brooks from Cary, NC.

Liz has paper products. Budget will be voted on in new business.

GSR Reports:

Big Town group - Annette. Still have 2 zoom and 2 in person. Elections in June.

Hendersonville Men’s - John O.

Attendance is really good. Pardee is bringing clients to the meeting. Some newcomers are present.

Hendersonville group- Larry

Meeting changing time to 7:00 does not seem to have effected attendance much so far. Sunday 11:00 literature meeting very well attended.

Ellen- Cedar Mountain group

Group needs support.

Old Business:

Need people to submit stories for the 5th edition Big Book

Voted to keep the zoom platform and discuss the Google Space at a later date.

New Business:

Request for $450.00 for the Founders Day picnic was approved.

Meeting adjourned with the Responsibility Statement at 10:40
