June DCM REPORT

Hello!  Hope everyone is well.  This past month has been uneventful.  I have nothing new to report.  However, Terry G has gotten in touch with Henderson County Detention Center, and we are now allowed in their facility.  I am sure she will report on this at our meeting.  We still had corrections money in the budget, so she ordered some big books for inmates and is also talking with Barbara E. in Transylvania County to see what they need.  I am so excited that we will have this service opportunity soon.  I want to also remind everyone that Sunday is Founder’s Day event at Jackson Park.  The event takes place from 12-4, please bring a side item and come help set up early if you’d like to help.  All are welcome to this event- it is OPEN.  We also have our assembly the following weekend in Charlotte (information is on website).  I hope groups can report to me how they feel about the agenda items.  I plan to read over them at Saturday’s meeting and here how groups are voting so I can vote our group conscious accordingly.  And don’t forget about the State Convention in Raleigh July 7-10 th .  Flyers are also on website and June 13this deadline for discounted room rate and 5 dollars of registration – Annette K.  can answer anyone’s questions regarding this event.  Hope to see you all at St. John’s at 930- come early I’ll be there at 9 making coffee and I’ll have pastries/donuts!!!!
