District 71 Business Meeting

DCM Report: Alan
It has slowed down during the summer months. Dale and I attended the Growth & Maintenance (GM) on July 8th . The agenda included:
P3 Manual changes review before submittal
Hearing impaired devices preparation for trial run at the Summer Committee Meeting, closed caption for hearing impaired.
Continued to attend Polk County meetings.
The July 2024 Beaming Beacon is available. Also available on The Area 51 Website in the Delegates Corner tab.
Plan to attend the Area 51 Summer Committee Meeting August 17 th and 18 th .
Area 51 has group contributions, along with ‘new’ group ID numbers in the Area 51

ADCM: Dale
1. Adult Recovery Court meets 2 nd and 4 th Wednesday of the month at Henderson County’s Court House, Court room 4. The staff meets with the Judge and any court officials to review participant’s case.
2. CPC had a presentation for the Adult Recovery Court on June 12 th .
3. Dale is working with Dr. Michelle Geiser, program director of Hope Coalition, to start a teen AA meeting at their new Teen Youth Center on Justice Street. The first planning meeting will be Friday August 9 th at 5PM.
4. They are also interested in offering a Alateen Meeting at Hope Coalition.

There is $624.00 and is purchasing more literature for Transylvania County.

She is looking into adding 2 more meetings at Pardee Treatment Center on Thursday and Saturdays. She will be contacting GSR’s to see if they can commit to 2-3 people/meeting. There
will be donation jars at each group.
GSR’s Report:
None
Old Business:
1. The proposal to migrate from Squarespace to Word press will be tabled until the fall meeting.
2. Create district 71 email accounts for service positions may start in the fall.
3. Treatment donation jars will be at each group.
New Business:
1. Need $200-$250 for literature for the Hendersonville Hope Coalition AA meetings ,tabled to next meeting to discuss concerning funding a start-up group since we are self
supporting.
