Events Chair

Movie Night held at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, Brevard NC on August 6th at 530 pm.  Bill W. and  Dr. Bob a video of an off Broadway play.   Many people were very touched by the story. 30-40 persons attended including friends from Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard.   Everyone enjoyed the fellowship.  Ellen O. was responsible for bringing this event to our district and with the help of Liz G. Popcorn from a real popcorn machine was served.  Lot’s of fun.

Plans for the Unity Breakfast

Joyce W. D70 Event Chairperson and I as co chairs are planning the event via text, phone calls and photos.  She is very experienced with event planning.  The first item was to change the event to a breakfast rather than a brunch siting that timing was important and wanting to give the attendees ample time to enjoy fellowship and the meal giving  Keith M. Area 51 Archivist plenty of opportunity to present his information on the history of AA in Western Carolina and early history of Aa in general.  Since D70 and 71 are hosting the event, we are co-chairing.  We have set a tentative budget for the food and all other items we will need ie paper products etc.  District 70 has agreed to split the cost for expenses with us.  We are developing a menu with the chef Chris K..  Volunteers are needed.   We will have more information at our next business meeting including our volunteer needs.
